When Derek is not battling the insurance companies, he is spending time with his wife Hanh and their two beautiful daughters.
After graduating Cum Laude, Derek began his law career representing some of the largest corporations and insurance companies in the country. Derek defended these companies and their insureds for years, including numerous jury trials. Derek then decided he was no longer going to represent insurance companies and decided to open Metts Legal and dedicate his practice to helping the injured and individuals that become involved in insurance disputes.
Derek understands the games that insurance companies play and he fights aggressively against insurance company tactics and the biased “experts” hired by the defense so that Derek’s clients can receive a fair verdict or settlement. Derek also never takes a case to trial without first making an effort to show the insurance company and defense counsel the true extent of his client’s damages through objective evidence and giving the insurance company a chance to do the right thing.
